CAD design & prototyping for custom jewelry

A dedicated design and sampling stage that lets you confirm proportion, fit and finish before production starts.

Every custom piece begins as a model. We develop the 3D CAD from your brief, then produce renders and a physical prototype so the design can be reviewed, adjusted and approved. This stage protects your budget — changes are far cheaper on a sample than after a production run has begun.

We work in Rhino, Matrix and JewelCAD, and accept your existing CAD files or reference materials. Whether you bring a finished design or a rough concept, our designers help you resolve the details that matter for manufacturing: structure, wall thickness, stone seats and wearability.

From idea to a confirmable sample

We keep the development stage clear, so you always know what is being modeled, reviewed and sampled before production is approved.

Designer reviewing a custom jewelry brief with the client

1. Brief & reference review

We start by understanding your product type, target price, materials and quantities, then review any sketch, photo, CAD file or physical sample you provide. This defines what the model must achieve and flags the details to settle before modeling.

2. Concept sketch & 3D modeling

Our designers build the 3D CAD model, developing proportions, structure and stone placement. We share progress views so you can follow the design as it takes shape and request adjustments early.

Reviewing photorealistic renders and confirming the jewelry design

3. Render review & design confirmation

We produce photorealistic renders for color, finish and stone options. You confirm the look, and we lock the design parameters before any metal is cut or a sample is cast.

4. Prototype & sample making

We make a physical sample — by resin printing and casting or by direct modeling — so you can check weight, comfort and detail in hand before approving production. Agreed changes are resolved on the sample first.

Inside our CAD studio

An in-house design and sampling setup keeps your project moving without outside coordination, and shortens the loop from concept to sample.

  • Dedicated CAD stations — Rhino, Matrix and JewelCAD workstations for modeling and technical drawing.
  • Render farm — fast photorealistic rendering for client review and catalog use.
  • 3D printing — resin printing for master models and quick-fit prototypes.
  • Sample bench — in-house sample making for metal prototypes and fitting checks.

What our CAD deliverables include

Each model is checked for manufacturing, not just looks, so the file that goes to production is clean and castable.

3D CAD model of a custom jewelry shape with correct structure

3D Model & Structure

A clean, production-ready 3D model with correct wall thickness, closures and stone seats, checked for castability and printability.

Stone setting layout specified in the CAD model

Stone Setting Layout

Precise placement and counts for prong, pavé, bezel and channel settings, with stone size, grade and orientation specified in the file.

Checking fit and wearability of the CAD model

Fit & Wearability Check

We verify ring sizes, clasp function, weight distribution and comfort so the piece wears as intended and the sample matches the approved design.

Prototype & sample types

Different sample formats for different decisions — from pre-sales visuals to a finished metal piece for final approval.

Digital render sample of a custom jewelry design

Digital Sample

Renders and 3D files you can use for pre-sales, crowdfunding and catalog before committing to tooling or production.

Finished metal sample of a custom jewelry piece

Finished Metal Sample

A cast and finished metal sample in your chosen material, for final approval, fitting and product photography.

Physical 3D-printed prototype for fit checking

Physical Prototype

A resin-printed or modeled prototype to check proportion, fit and clasp function in hand before the design is finalized.

Why brands choose our CAD team

Production-ready files

Models are built for manufacturing, not just visualization, with correct thickness and stone seats.

Photorealistic renders

Review color, finish and stone options before any metal is cut or sampled.

Fast sample turnaround

In-house 3D printing and sample bench shorten the idea-to-sample loop.

Design confidentiality

Your files and concepts are handled under NDA and never reused without permission.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from brands, designers and buyers
planning CAD design and prototyping.

No. We accept sketches, reference photos, physical samples or a written brief. If you already have CAD files, we can work from those directly and refine them for production.

We model in Rhino, Matrix and JewelCAD, and accept STL, OBJ, 3DM and most common CAD formats. We also work from 2D technical drawings and reference images.

Yes. We can develop an original piece for your brand inspired by a reference, keeping it distinct. Send the reference with your material, size and quantity so we can quote accurately.

It depends on complexity. A straightforward model with one revision typically takes a few working days, and a physical sample a little longer. We confirm timing in the quotation after reviewing your brief.

Yes. We share renders and, where useful, a physical prototype for your approval. Production only starts once the design and sample are confirmed.

Your files, drawings and concepts are treated as confidential and used only for your project. We can sign an NDA and will not reproduce your exclusive designs for other clients.
